Leadership Development

NCL, Inc and the Moon Valley Chapter is committed to the development of our members as leaders. We fully support and embrace the development of our Leadership Pillar and believe that empowering young women with the experience and confidence to lead in small group settings help NCL members to develop essential skills for the future.

We offer leadership opportunities each year for both our moms and daughters and we lead by example. Not only are the girls expected and encouraged to take on leadership roles in their respective grade levels but the moms model these skills by accepting and sharing her talents in chapter leadership roles as well.

Our members practice parliamentary procedure and conduct an annual nominations process to elect the chapter and grade level officer positions. Once elected, we train our officers for success and mentor them throughout the year through our organized Peer Mentoring Program. It is this ongoing yearly support which exposes our daughters to various leadership styles and personalities from our adult peer mentors that help our daughters realize their fullest individual leadership potential.

In addition, we offer and host several meetings during the membership year and invite outstanding speakers at both the grade and chapter level to teach us about internet safety, bullying, time management skills, public speaking and interviewing skills, budgets and bank accounts and self-defense skills to name a few.

Through all this and more, the Moon Valley Chapter has evolved into a well-respected and dynamic small group leadership program that will develop tomorrow’s leaders and become leaders with purpose!
